Ambassador Sherry Rehman has said that growing Pakistan US relations are a factor of stability in the region. She said this while speaking to a group of Pakistan Armed Forces officers led by Lt Gen Muhammad Asif, Director General JS, who called on her at the Embassy today.

She noted that Pakistan US bilateral defence ties are on an upward trajectory and both sides are successfully cooperating on a range of issues including counter terrorism, counter insurgency and peace and stability in Afghanistan. Pakistan is committed to facilitate peace and stability in Afghanistan as the US draws down, Ambassador Rehman said.

Lt Gen Muhammad Asif briefed the Ambassador about recent developments in bilateral defence cooperation. He appreciated the role played by the Ambassador in high-lighting Pakistan’s point of view and promoting high level contacts between both sides.

Pakistan Armed Forced delegation is visiting the US for regular consultations between the defence communities of the two countries.
