DIALOGUE FOR PEACE AND UNDERSTANDING HELD AT PAKISTAN HOUSE, WASHINGTON, DC
Ambassador of Pakistan Dr. Asad M. Khan and Mrs. Zunaira Asad Khan hosted a group of women leaders from the DMV area at a Luncheon Event themed “Dialogue for Peace and Understanding” at Pakistan House today.
In his remarks, the Ambassador highlighted the significance of Rabi-ul-Awal as the month of birth of Holy Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (SAW) and the universality of his message of peace, equality, tolerance, understanding and compassion for each other . He said that the people of Pakistan were peace loving and the government of Pakistan was taking all measures to strengthen tolerant ethos of the society. The Ambassador said that Pakistan had always worked with the international community, especially the U.S., towards promoting regional and global peace. He also praised Pakistani women who were making their mark in every sphere of life and actively contributing to the socio-economic progress of the country.
During the interactive session, the guests expressed deep appreciation for the event and said that such events were instrumental in bringing people of different cultures, ethnicities and religious affiliations to come together, share their stories and experiences and better understand each other.
The Ambassador also responded to various queries regarding situation in Afghanistan and Pakistan’s efforts to promote regional peace and stability.
