Embassy hosts a cultural event to promote Pakistan’s tourism potential

Embassy of Pakistan hosted members of ThingsToDoDC, an organization that offers young professionals based in Washington DC and adjacent areas the opportunity to experience the world – right in their hometown – by introducing them to the cultures of different countries  through events organized at various embassies.

Mr. Gregory Bland, CEO, ThingsToDoDC /Embassy Experiences thanked the Ambassador for opening the doors of the Embassy for young professionals and introducing them to Pakistan. In his opening remarks, Ambassador Dr. Asad Majeed Khan highlighted strong civilizational and cultural roots of Pakistan.  He said that Pakistan offers tremendous tourism opportunities and people of Pakistan are known for their warmth and hospitality. Whosoever has even once visited Pakistan has fallen in love with the country. He invited members of ThingsToDoDC to visit Pakistan to personally experience its rich cultural heritage, breathtaking landscape and scrumptious cuisine.

The event included a cultural ramp walk by members of Pakistani American community including children displaying attire from various provinces of Pakistan and traditional Pakistani music featuring rhythmic beats of Tabla played in the distinctive style of all provinces of Pakistan. The evening concluded with mouthwatering Pakistani cuisine.

The event was attended by around 100 members of ThingsToDoDC comprising of US professionals from all walks of life.
