Message of Congressman Pete Sessions of Texas

Today is August the 14th, 2024, a day that we will remember the Pakistani independence since 1947. Today is a day of celebration, honor and pride that comes from Pakistani Americans as they live in the United States of America, helping make America and Pakistan and that relationship even stronger. Commerce, medicine and technology are all areas of contribution that so many Pakistani Americans have made. Today, we honor that not just relationship with Pakistan, but the lives of people who make our world even better. I, as a member of Congress from Texas, have an opportunity to see firsthand not just the conscious relationship between two great nations, but a reliance on each other to make the world better. So today is an opportunity for Pakistan America and Pakistani Americans to celebrate August the 14th with reliance upon each other, but the strength of friendship and character, but perhaps more importantly, for freedom and opportunity. It is my hope that today, August the 14th, will be an important day for you and your family, and the contributions you continue to make to the United States of America, Pakistan, and a better world.
