Certificate Awarding Ceremony of “Understanding Pakistan” Course Organized by the Embassy of Pakistan Washington D.C
The certificate awarding ceremony of the Third “Understanding Pakistan” course was held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington D.C. today.
The course, which is part of the Embassy’s Generation Next Initiative, provided a better and deeper understanding of Pakistan to the participants. It has been specially designed for interested Americans and Pakistani-Americans to gain knowledge about Pakistan’s history, society, culture, economy, trade, foreign policy including an overview of Pakistan-U.S. relations.
The Deputy Chief of Mission, Dr. Asad M. Khan awarded certificates to the course participants and felicitated them on successfully completing the course.
In his remarks, Deputy Chief of Mission Dr. Asad M. Khan underscored the importance that the Embassy attaches to reaching out to American and Pakistani-American youth to promote awareness about Pakistan. He appreciated their interest in the program which has been very effective in achieving its objectives.
The course has become an important public diplomacy initiative of the Embassy to foster and expand people to people contacts between Pakistan and the U.S.
The course participants represented a wide cross section of the American private and public sectors including university and college students, US government officials, businessmen and entrepreneurs. The participants deeply appreciated the initiative terming it highly informative and useful.
