Overseas Pakistanis, who are at disadvantage to look after / safeguard their rights in their homeland

Taking notice of the plight of Overseas Pakistanis, who are at disadvantage to look after / safeguard their rights in their homeland, the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan has been pleased to establish and inaugurate “Expatriate Pakistanis Complaint Wing” in the Human Rights Cell of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The Wing is being looked after by the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan himself. The Wing will receive complaints of Overseas Pakistanis through post, fax as well as email on the application pro forma uploaded on the official website of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The Wing shall process such complaints within a period of 24 hours.

The mandate of the Wing is to protect rights and interests of the Overseas Pakistanis in Pakistan ranging from their right to vote, protection of property and land right and the hardships they face in their visit to Pakistan, etc. In order to address grievances of Overseas Pakistanis, the Wing is mandated, inter alia, to analyze grievances and to call report from the departments complained against and to give directions for redressel of such grievances and to suggest even legislation, if required.
