Ambassador Dr. Asad M. Khan addressed Pakistani-American community in an event hosted by Pakistan Society of North Texas, Dallas

Dallas: Ambassador Dr. Asad M. Khan addressed a large number of Pakistani-American community members in an event hosted by Pakistan Society of North Texas, Dallas on October 4th, 2019.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Khan briefed the audience on Pakistan’s perspective on the US-Pak bilateral relations and the latest developments in the region, particularly on the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir. He urged the community members to raise their voices in conveying their legislators to take note of the gross human rights violations committed by Indian forces in IoK. “While the Government of Pakistan and the Embassy is raising the issue of Kashmir at every possible forum, however, the most powerful and effective voice in this country would be that of Kashmiri and Pakistani-Americans,” he added.

Besides the community engagement, Ambassador Khan also had an exchange of views with Mayor of Dallas, Eric Johnson together with a number of State Representatives from Texas including Angie Chen Button, Matt Shaheen and Carl Sherman. Mayor Johnson greatly appreciated the role of Pakistani-American community in strengthening robust ties between the two countries. On this occasion, Ambassador Khan was bestowed with the honorary citizenship of Dallas, Texas.

Ambassador Khan thanked the Mayor and the State Representatives for the great honor. He said that a broad-based relationship between Pakistan and the U.S. remains vital to achieving their common bilateral and regional interests.
