The Embassy of Pakistan in Washington D.C. organized an event to highlight the achievements of Pakistani-American youth and their role in strengthening Pakistan-US ties. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Security and Strategic Policy Planning, Dr. Moeed Yusuf, who is currently on an official visit to the US, was the guest of honor. The event was very well attended by the young Pakistani-Americans representing diverse sectors including students from George Washington University, George Mason University and University of Virginia.
Ambassador Asad Majeed Khan, in his welcome address, said that the Pakistani-American youth were an asset for Pakistan and the Government viewed them as partners in Pakistan’s socio-economic development. Ambassador Khan said that Pakistan was proud of the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit of Pakistani-American youth, which was reflected in their achievements and success in all walks of life.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Security and Strategic Policy Planning, Dr. Moeed Yusuf, in his remarks, highlighted the important role of Pakistani-American youth in building stronger ties between Pakistan and the USA. While appreciating their passion and love for Pakistan, NSA termed the youth an important stakeholder in Pakistan’s progress and prosperity. NSA also urged the successful Pakistani-Americans to create networking and mentoring opportunities for young Pakistanis living in Pakistan and USA.
During the Q&A session, the participants shared their views and suggestions. The National Security Advisor also had detailed interaction with many of the participants individually
