Washington: The Embassy of Pakistan grieves for the victims of the tragic incident at the Santa Fe High School in Texas this morning.

Among the victims was Sabika Sheikh, a Pakistani exchange student. Ms. Sheikh was in Texas as part of the Youth Exchange & Study (YES) Programme. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sabika’s family and friends. Ambassador Aizaz Chaudhry spoke to the father of Sabika Sheikh expressing heartfelt condolences over the tragic death of his daughter.

Pakistan’s Consul General in Houston is also in touch with Sabika’s family in Pakistan. Ambassador Aizaz Chaudhry has directed the Consul General to maintain contact with the authorities concerned in Houston with a view to ensuring timely completion of all formalities for early repatriation of the dead body of the deceased student.
