The Embassy of Pakistan, Washington DC invites bids from reputable roofing/ construction companies for the replacement of roof at the official residence of Economic Minister located at 2865 Arizona Terrace, NW, Washington DC 20016. The scope of work includes installation of roofing system, plywood sheathing, complete gutter system and fascia board and soffits repair.
Interested roofing/ construction companies may submit their complete proposal/ bids in a sealed envelope within 15 days from the date of publication of the advertisement to The Economic Minister, Embassy of Pakistan, 3517 International Court, NW, Washington DC 20008.The bids must reach this office before 12:00 PM (Noon) on November 19, 2024 in a sealed envelope. The bids will be opened in the presence of bidders or their representatives on November 19, 2024 at 12:30 PM.
The Embassy of Pakistan, Washington DC reserves the right to accept or reject any of the bids in accordance with the existing PPRA Rules.

JOB OPPORTUNITY (Trade & Investment Development Officer (TDO))
The Trade and Investment Section of the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington DC, USA, is looking to hire a Trade Development Officer (TDO) for the Commercial Wing. The candidate will be responsible for promoting trade and investment activities, and primarily assist the Minister (Trade and Investment) in trade diplomacy-related activities including facilitating trade, investment, and business opportunities for Pakistani companies in the USA. Additionally, the candidate may be required to gather market information about other regions of the Americas as and when needed by the Ministry of Commerce. The TDO will be responsible for developing business plans for the important sectors, networking with relevant business contacts, promoting Pakistan’s exports & services, identifying opportunities for inward FDI, and promoting/facilitating tourism to Pakistan. The position involves interacting with prominent individuals/entities and high-ranking officials in both the private and public sectors and requires a high degree of maturity and professionalism.
Major Responsibilities:
- Identify and facilitate trade opportunities for Pakistani companies in the USA, develop marketing programs for investment in Pakistan, and promote the export of Pakistani products and services.
- Prepare reports on the US markets for a range of products and services that are of interest to Pakistan and could contribute towards increasing exports.
- Seek, identify, and report export and investment opportunities for Pakistani companies using various sources such as market intelligence, stakeholder engagement, and online assessment tools.
- Maintain and update the client database including Pakistani exporters, local importers, and Pakistani diaspora businesses in the US.
- Coordinate with potential business partners in the USA and Pakistan, including government and private businesses, to establish investment and trade linkages.
- Provide event management services for trade missions, exhibitions, conferences, and other internal and external events supported and/or organized by the Consulate.
- Arrange meetings for the Minister of Trade and Investment with Pakistani and local businesspersons, companies, and other relevant parties.
- Prepare talking points for the meetings, take notes during the meetings, prepare draft minutes/record notes of the meetings, and take follow-up actions/correspondence.
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including industry associations, chambers of commerce, and relevant organizations.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Superior Officers.
Qualifications & Experience
- A minimum Bachelor’s degree in any of the following: Commerce, Marketing, Business Administration, Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Economics, International Trade / Business Relations, International Relations, Data Sciences, or an equivalent degree from a recognized institution.
- Previous work experience, preferably in business and trade-related matters or organizations.
Desirable Qualifications & Skills
- A good understanding of international trade
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Proficient with technology and digital literacy, with experience in but not limited to, MS Word and Excel.
