Special Events

As a gesture of solidarity with the United States, a gift of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) has been made by the Armed Forces of Pakistan to the U.S. Armed Forces today, 21 May 2020. The PPE arrived via a C-130 flight from Islamabad at Andrews Air Force Base (AFB), Maryland this afternoon. Pakistan Ambassador to the US Dr. Asad M. Khan and senior officers of the Embassy’s Defence Wing were present on the occasion. From the U.S. side, Mr. David Helvey, Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs and other officials were also present 21 May 2020.

A second special flight of PIA left with 232 passengers for Karachi from Dulles airport, Washington DC. Ambassador Dr. Asad Majeed Khan bid farewell to Pakistani passengers who were stranded in the US. The total number of Pakistanis repatriated this week is around 570. The third special flight is scheduled for Lahore on 17 May 2020 from Newark airport, New Jersey. 13 May, 2020

Dr. Asad Majeed Khan, the Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States bid farewell to the students at the Dulles International Airport. A special charter flight arranged by the U.S. Government departed for Lahore carrying around 150 Pakistani students, who had been in the United States on various US funded exchange programs including UGRAD, Fulbright, Humphrey, and YES programs. A special charter flight arranged by the Government of Pakistan in collaboration with the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) for repatriation of stranded Pakistanis left with around 200 passengers from Dulles International Airport (IAD), Washington DC.
