Pakistan Day Flag Hoisting Ceremony held at Embassy of Pakistan Washington D.C.

A flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan Washington D.C. today to mark 82nd Pakistan Resolution Day also known as Pakistan Day. The day is observed with full national fervor in Pakistan and abroad to pay homage to the vision of our forefathers and to renew our commitment to adhere to the guiding principles as outlined by the father of the nation.

Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States Dr. Asad M. Khan hoisted Pakistani flag with tune of National Anthem.

Special messages of President Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan were read out on the occasion.

Ambassador Dr. Asad M. Khan, in his remarks, felicitated all Pakistani nationals in the United States on the occasion of National Day. He paid homage to Pakistan’s founding fathers for their vision and sacrifices to realize the dream of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent. Ambassador Khan particularly lauded the important role of Pakistani-American diaspora for acting as a critical bridge and building a closer partnership between Pakistan and the US. He said that the Pakistani diaspora was contributing positively not just in the U.S. but in Pakistan as well. Expressing satisfaction over greater visibility and representation of Pakistani-American community in all walks of life, the Ambassador expressed the hope that the community would be able to build on the gains made so far and would further excel in every field.

Following his posting as Ambassador of Pakistan to Brussels, the Ambassador thanked the support and cooperation extended to him by the U.S. Administration, members of the Congress, and the Pakistani-American community, in particular, during his tenure in Washington D.C. He hoped that Pakistan and the U.S. would continue to work together for a comprehensive, broad-based and mutually beneficial relationship.

Members of the Pakistani community, students and officials from the Embassy attended the ceremony. It was also broadcast live on the Embassy’s social media platforms.
