Pakistan offers great opportunities to the US businesses and tech entrepreneurs

Federal Minister for Planning Development and Special Initiatives Mr. Ahsan Iqbal said that Pakistan with its huge market, modern infrastructure and a unique geo-location offered great opportunities to the US businesses and tech entrepreneurs to undertake profitable business ventures and create a win-win partnership.

The successful business ventures of US companies, operating in Pakistan since decades, provided a solid base for strengthening our business-to-business ties.

He was talking to a delegation of US-Pakistan Business Council which called on him at Embassy of Pakistan Washington DC.

The Minister said that IT sector of Pakistan, with its upward trajectory, was poised to witness exponential growth in the days ahead and provided a new dimension to the Pak-US bilateral ties.

He further stated that Pakistan needed “Second Green Revolution”. He observed that climate change has compounded issues related to agriculture sector posing serious challenge to food security. He said that Pakistan looked forward to benefit from US expertise in agriculture sector for enhancing its productivity, maximizing efficiency of agriculture sector and optimizing natural resource utilization.

He also highlighted energy, engineering, healthcare as key areas for investments. Pakistan, the Minister observed, was ripe for U.S. investment.

The Minister assured the delegation that the Government was committed to provide a conducive environment and remove all obstacle to unleash Pakistan’s full potential. We would continue to make every possible effort to facilitate foreign investors and business community, continued the Minister.

The delegation thanked the Minister for his assurance and shared their experiences doing business in Pakistan.
