Ambassador Jalil Abbas Jilani meets with Senator Dianne Feinstein

Ambassador Jalil Abbas Jilani, today, met with Senator Dianne Feinstein, (democrat) California, who chairs the Select Committee on Intelligence.

Ambassador Jilani conveyed good wishes of the people and government of Pakistan to the Senator and expressed the desire to work with her to further strengthen the important relationship between Pakistan and the United States. Ambassador briefed the Senator on the latest developments in the relationship including the recent several high level exchanges from both sides as well as the forthcoming meetings. Matters of mutual interest including Afghanistan were also discussed.

Senator Feinstein showed her keen interest in working with the democratic government of Pakistan and assisting the Pakistani people in overcoming their economic and security challenges.

After assuming the responsibilities of Pakistan’s Ambassador to Washington DC, this was the first formal interaction of Ambassador Jilani at the Capitol Hill.
