Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs’ meeting with NSA Susan Rice at the White House

The Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Mr. Sartaj Aziz met the U.S. National Security Adviser Susan Rice at the White House today.

Adviser Aziz and NSA Rice reviewed the ongoing Pakistan-U.S. cooperation in security and non-security sectors and expressed satisfaction on the overall positive trajectory in the bilateral ties.

Adviser Aziz and NSA Rice noted that 2014 will be a very significant year for the relationship both in the bilateral as well as regional contexts. They reaffirmed their mutual desire to work towards a broad based and comprehensive Pakistan-U.S. partnership designed to achieve peace, security and prosperity for the two peoples. They also recognized the need for both countries to closely coordinate and cooperate with each other and with Afghanistan to ensure peace and stability in that country beyond 2014.
