MESSAGE BY THE PRIME MINISTER OF PAKISTAN ON KASHMIR SOLIDARITY DAY (5TH FEBRUARY 2016)

MESSAGE BY THE PRIME MINISTER OF PAKISTAN ON KASHMIR SOLIDARITY DAY (5TH FEBRUARY 2016)

On the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, the Government and the people of Pakistan reiterate their continued and steadfast political, moral and diplomatic support to the people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir in their heroic struggle for their inalienable right to self-determination. The people of Jammu and Kashmir were promised this right 68 years ago by the international community but India has continued to deny them their inalienable right by refusing to implement UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir.

The valiant people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir have rendered unmatched sacrifices in their just struggle. However, all the Indian brutalities and atrocities have failed to deter the people of IOK from their cause for freedom from Indian oppression. The people of Pakistan and freedom-loving people across the world salute them for their courage, bravery and persistence in facing the worst kind of human rights abuses, violence and suppression by the Indian security forces.

Pakistan is committed to a just and peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute based on UN resolutions. Pakistan reminds the International community of its responsibilities in the matter and urges it to fulfill its promise made with the people of Jammu and Kashmir 68 years ago. Peace in the region will remain elusive until the resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the will of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
