Flag Hoisting by Ambassador Aizaz Chaudhry marks the commencement of Pakistan Day Celebrations across the US

Ambassador Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry remarked that every year, the ‘Pakistan Day’ reminded us of the need to uphold democratic ideals and principles that inspired the Muslims of the Subcontinent to forge unity in their ranks in pursuit of their cherished dream. He characterized the 77th”Pakistan Day” as being particularly important since the nation would be celebrating 70th anniversary of independence this year.

The Flag Hoisting ceremony held at the Embassy marked the commencement of Pakistan Day celebrations in the length and breadth of the US. Extending a warm welcome to the guests at the ceremony, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US H.E. AizazAhmad Chaudhry highlighted resounding success of Pakistan in the campaign against terrorism and the recent economic turnaround that hadhelped situate Pakistan prominently among one of the fastest growing economies in Asia. Ambassador emphasized that Pakistan was well on its way to a future of peace & prosperity. Leadership, Security forces and the People of Pakistan had demonstrated unanimity and supreme resolve in eliminating terrorism from the country.

In his concluding remarks, Ambassador Chaudhry prayed to the Almighty to make Pakistan safe, stronger and a highly developed country in the future.

Earlier, Minister Press read out messages of the President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, in a simple but elegant ceremony held at the Chancery.
