The US Special Representative on Afghanistan and Pakistan, James F. Dobbins calls on the Foreign Secretary

Ambassador James F. Dobbins, the newly appointed US Special Representative on Afghanistan and Pakistan (SRAP), today called on the Foreign Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was accompanied by Lt. Gen (retd.) Doug Lute, Special Assistant to the US President, and Ambassador Richard Hoagland, Charge d’ Affaires US Embassy Islamabad.

During the talks discussion on bilateral relations and regional situation including latest developments in Afghanistan took place. The two sides exchanged views on several actions to be taken in the realm of bilateral cooperation.

The Foreign Secretary also briefed the new US SRAP about the steps taken by Pakistan for peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to remain positively engaged in supporting the peace process.

Both sides reaffirmed their desire to work closely for consolidation of bilateral relations and partnership in all spheres of cooperation including peace and stability in the region.
