First consignment of 3500 KG Pakistani “Sindhri” mangoes has arrived at Houston, Texas

The first consignment of 3500 KG Pakistani “Sindhri” mangoes has arrived at Houston, Texas. This consignment has received a very favorable response, and is being marketed at stores in Houston, Austin and Dallas. Further consignments are expected to arrive at Houston in two weeks. The retail price of the 2.5kg mango pack is $25, which has been termed as fair, considering the superior quality of Pakistani mangoes. The US is a favored destination for mango exporters, where there is considerable demand for delicious Pakistani mangoes.

Ambassador Jalil Abbas Jilani welcomed this initiative by Farm House Exports (PVT) Ltd. at Karachi and Famous Foods Products at Houston in bringing Pakistani mangoes to the US, which is in line with the Prime Minister’s policy of trade diversification in relation to exports to the US market. The Ambassador encouraged other mango exporters to follow suit, and assured them of maximum facilitation by the Embassy of Pakistan and Consulates in the US. He appreciated the US Department of Agriculture for allowing additional irradiation facilities in the US, which will allow the expansion of market area for Pakistani mangoes. This measure will in turn enable US citizens to enjoy the taste of the finest mangoes in the world.
