Mr. Syed Tariq Fatemi visits the United States

The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Mr. Tariq Fatemi will be in the United States on an official visit from 21st to 28th July 2014.

Mr. Fatemi will hold meetings with the senior officials in the State Department, Defence Department and the White House to exchange views on bilateral relations.

Pakistan Embassy has also scheduled his meetings with prominent Senators and Congressmen, who belong to Foreign Affairs Committees of the two Houses, with a view to strengthening bilateral cooperation in foreign policy arena.

Mr. Tariq Fatemi will also participate in a UN Security Council debate in New York, on 28th of July, on “United Nations Peacekeeping: Regional Partnership and its Evolution”. Pakistan has great interest in the subject, as one of the largest troop contributing countries.

He will address the scholars, researchers and policy planners at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and the Paul Nitze School of Advanced International Studies of John Hopkins University on Pakistan’s foreign policy and relations with the United States in the context of evolving situation in the region.
Mr. Fatemi’s engagements will also include interaction with the reporters of important international and local media houses, who are keen on receiving first hand information about Pakistan’s focused military operation in North Waziristan against the terrorist network without any discrimination and distinction.
